Drink it Now. Tonight. Masut Pinot Noir

Crickets Chirping.

Katydids clicking…right on my deck. Green wings vibrating.

Tree branches framed against the night sky.

Black oily olives. Crumbly aged cheddar. Crusty ciabatta.

Luminescent Pinot Noir.

Pouring liquid lavishness.

Go ahead–open that bottle you are saving. Just do it. Tonight.

Drink in the elixir.

And be grateful–for all of this.

This estate vineyard Pinot Noir from Eagle Peak Mendocino County, a very cool, northern California county, whispers elegance and comfort.

Aromas are complex with dark black cherry and a floral perfume. Tobacco leaf hints mingle with cherry liquor, lots of spicy oak and smoke.

The palate shows more ripe black cherry and bright raspberry fruits. A lush texture holds more flavor components of fig and dried herbs along with a good hit of spice.  All of this lingers in a velvet palate.

Comforting on a tough day of contemplating loss;

Pairing with anything salty;

A Pinot Noir drinker who is seeking a cool climate Pinot Noir full of fruit and focused acidity.
